Our goal is to avail accurate reports about healthcare service delivery in
Uganda to Ministry of Health, Implementing partners, researchers and
to all stakeholders in real time
All health facilities in Uganda are required to fill and submit monthly Health Management Information System(HMIS) reports to the Health sub-district(HSD) and to the district by 5th of the following month. These reports have essential data that includes Out Patient Department (OPD) attendances and diagnoses, Maternal Child Health (MCH), HIV/AIDS service data, lab data, stock outs of essential drugs and supplies and financial data. The reports are often generated through a process of tedious tallying that is often done retrospectively. They are very voluminous and have some complicated sections for Health Unit-in charges and data clerks to fill. The result is poor quality, patchy data that is often submitted late. At the district, these reports are entered into the government system(DHIS2)by the district bio-statistician by the 15th of the same month. Ministry of Health(MOH),Implementing Partners(IPs) can then access this information.
