The team at Innovation Streams Limited led by Samuel Mugisha were first run up of the 7th annual Hackathon organised by Camtech at Mbarara University of Science and Technology on August 24th – 25th, 2019. The team presented a prototype of Smart nurse; a mobile phone application that leverages artificial intelligence and mobile technology to help nurses provide quality health care by supporting their decisions and improving the efficiency of bed side monitoring. The team was awarded USD 750 to refine the prototype further. The team will undergo mentorship by Camtech for a year to grow the application to benefit many nurses and patients. Samuel Mugisha is excited at what artificial intelligence can do and says the app will be the first in Uganda to offer real world artificial intelligence to clinicians. The app will later be integrated with stre@mline. Find article that was published in the newspaper about the competition: Camtech_Hackathon 2019
